Hi everyone!! I have a new skincare brand and two of their products to review today and it’s a brand that I’ve only come across only recently despite being in the market for a few years now.
Introducing ROVECTIN!
Today I have two of their products to share with you guys today – their Skin Essentials Conditioning Cleanser & Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion!

About the brand
Started off as a brand that helped with skin related side effects of cancer patients undergoing treatment, ROVECTIN focuses on treating the skin from within.
It’s name derived from the latin term reverti – meaning “to go back to where it was”, they want to help people feel comfortable and more confident in their own skin and ultimately improve a person’s quality of life as a result of that.
They focus on being minimal with their ingredients and promote clean beauty through their products based on healthy living and eco-friendly values. They only use active ingredients that only need to be there and for their Activating Treatment Lotion, being Environmental Working Group (EWG) friendly and deemed safe for the whole family to use.
Trusted by hospitals and dermatologists in Korea, ROVECTIN uses restorative ingredients that gently improve and calm damaged skin. It believes that healing it is better than hiding or turning to quick fixes as a long term solution. Both these products are from the Aqua Enriched Line, which helps hydrate and soothe dry and damaged skin without stripping the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Skin Essentials Conditioning Cleanser
Don’t be fooled by its appearance…or lack of because of its clear look. This gentle yet effective cleanser helps remove the daily grime off the skin yet retains the skin’s moisture barrier, leaving your skin hydrated with no tight feeling afterwards. There is a faint clean-ish scent which is pleasant and I actually don’t mind but there are no artificial scents added to this cleanser. For people who are concerned with pH levels of cleansers, this has a pH level of 5.7 (which is actually good and ok for the skin!) helps balance the skin at its natural pH range of 4.5 – 6.5.
It contains Glycerin which helps retain moisture in the skin, keeping it toned and hydrated. It is also a natural hypoallergenic agent which is also great for people with very sensitive skin and suffering from skin allergies (like myself) as well. It also contains Sodium Cocoamphoacetate which is derived from coconut oil which helps maintain and balance the pH levels of the skin. This ingredient is so gentle that it is suitable for children and babies as it is mild and non-irritating to their skin.
This cleanser is 100% free from parabens, artificial colorants, artificial fragrances, mineral oil, and steroids, making it suitable for people who are sensitive to anyone of these concerns as well.
Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion
This multi-functional product gives a boost of hydration to the skin from within and enhances the skin’s condition for a healthy complexion. The ‘lotion’ as it’s called can serve as a toner, essence/serum or even add to your skin prep before makeup that hydrates, gives more elasticity and improves the skin’s surface.
This is actually a more refined version of their first treatment lotion with better moisturising and absorption properties in the skin. Suitable for even the most sensitive skin, it is free from oils, alcohols, parabens, carcinogens, artificial flavours, mineral oils, steroids, artificial pigments and no animal-derived ingredients in this lotion which is great for people who want more simpler and cleaner products in their skincare routine.
Does your skin still happen to feel dry even though you apply hyaluronic acid toners or serums? It’s probably because of the high molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid in your products which are larger in particle size that isn’t properly absorbed into the skin.
The people at ROVECTIN have properly done their research and made their formula with more finer hyaluronic acid particles that can easily be absorbed into the skin for inner hydration, keeping your skin thoroughly moisturised throughout the day.
There are seven types of hyaluronic acids in this lotion (below) that have a different purpose to bring and maintain moisture into the skin. By building this complex layer of hydration, it helps improve the skin’s resilience and prevents the moisture that is put into the skin to evaporate.
It also contains:
- Papaya fruit extract to help gently exfoliate the skin
- Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) to help build a strong skin barrier
- Pure Caffeine to reduce swelling
- Aqua Cell Activator – carefully selected ingredients that helps improve the skin’s texture.
How its used
Skin Essentials Conditioning Cleanser
Just like how you would use your normal cleanser, a pump and a quick lather with the palm of your hands is all you need to gently wash your face with it. Since it is such a gentle and clean formula it doesn’t foam up as much as your standard cleanser does but is effective in cleansing the face, giving a refresh feeling afterwards. Despite the lack of foam there is a good amount of soapy bubbles to help cleanse your face.
- It’s a great morning cleanser to help with removing excess sebum build up from the night before.
- It’s suitable as a second cleanser that will leave your skin feeling hydrated after use.
- A gentle cleanser that is suitable for all, including men who get irritated skin from shaving and young children’s skin.
Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion
As I said before, you can apply this in multiple ways to help give a boost of hydration to the skin.
One way is through a toner, where you can apply a small amount and gently apply it all over your face in a patting motion.
Another way is layering it like an essence/serum after the initial toner layer. Or if your skin is particularly sensitive to external environments, you can soak a few cotton thin cotton pads and apply them to those problem areas between 5-10 minutes to soothe and recover.
If your skin feels particularly rough and dry you can even out the skin’s surface by gently wiping it with a cotton pad soaked in the lotion before immediately applying an ampoule amount until your skin feels hydrated and firm again.
Lastly, you can even use it as a last step to even out the skin’s texture before applying make up. You do this by soaking a few cotton pads and leaving it on your forehead, cheeks and chin area for 1 minute before continuing on with your makeup routine.
First Impressions
When I used the cleanser for the first time and lathered it up on my hands there was little foam being made which I thought there was something wrong with the product haha.
However, I read that this was normal afterwards and as I washed my face with it, it lathered pretty well.
I was impressed that it left my face feeling moisturised after the wash and there was NO feeling of tightness and dryness which I felt really happy about!
As for the lotion, I initially didn’t like how it felt sticky on my face right after I applied it on. However, it did absorb into the skin quite fast. I probably wasn’t used to the feeling and used to much the first time hence why it felt that way. Oooooops hehe. After learning from that experience, I used a significantly smaller amount and layered it on a bit at a time and found it better that way. My skin felt firm and hydrated which I really appreciated!
It also helped out a lot when my skin went through an allergy reaction this past week and bought a lot of hydration back to those problem areas around my eyes, parts of my cheeks and forehead which I am super appreciative of! It was only a handful of products including the Conditioning Cleanser that I could only use without it stinging my face.
Thoughts
Despite being skeptical at first when it claimed to help with sensitive skin (when so many have failed to do so with me 😒) and how I read some people’s reviews that it didn’t suit their skin worried me haha. However, I was proven wrong and I really enjoyed the gentle yet effective formulas that helped bring back moisture to my skin.
Throughout my time using both products I haven’t significantly broken out a lot but it might be different to other people’s skin types so make sure you read some reviewers with similar skin types as yours to see if it’s right for you!
I was very impressed with how gentle it was for my skin and even through my recent skin allergy reaction as well! It was gentle enough to help clean and hydrate my dry skin while help retaining the moisture left inside with the lotion so my skin doesn’t end up like a dry crusty sponge haha!
For all you sensitive skin gals like myself, I would highly recommend these two products to try if you’re tired of finding nothing to help you through these tough times cause I know how you feel. It can feel frustrating when your skin is stinging, itching, dry and flaky and you can’t use any of your normal skin care products because it hurts your skin to do so.
