ROVECTIN Review – Lotus Water Calming Toner

A warmer Summer approaching means switching up the skincare routine, saying goodbye to your heavy cream and welcoming back lighter moisturisers with open arms that help cool the skin down. Also, we want them to be super hydrating as well since warmer temperatures, air conditioning and if you like being in the water, chlorine from the pools and salt water from the beach can take a toll on our skin and it’s super important to use products to help repair it from the day’s activities!

With that being said, I have Rovectin’s NEW Lotus Water Calming Toner to introduce to you today. This will fit right into your Summer skincare routine…or if you’re approaching Winter where you are now, save this product when Summer comes around!

I was super excited for this product to come out since loving their Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion when it first released. I was hoping that they’d release a lighter toner sometime in the future suitable for the warmer months and they did! I knew I had to try this out and see how it fares out compared with the original toner.

Very gentle on the skin it helps hydrate and repair the skin from the inside out. You can click on any of the products below if you want to find out more about the products and if they are suitable for you.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Now more about the product, the Lotus Water Calming Toner is Rovectin’s latest addition to its Clean Line. It’s refreshing, light and has a watery consistency which is perfect for the Summer months! ☀️

It’s formulated with 40% Lotus Water extract which soothes, hydrates and purifies the skin. Apart from that, it also contains ingredients such as Aquaxyl which helps lock in 7 layers of Hyaluronic Acid by building a healthy moisture barrier from the inside out. Not only is it light but it also hydrates your skin. You can read about more of their main ingredients on the Lotus Water Calming Toner product page from their official website for other ingredients in the toner and the properties they carry that help the skin.

It’s also not a Rovectin product if it’s not free from Mineral Oils, Parabens, Steroids, Carcinogens, Artificial Pigments and Fragrances and is not tested on animals which is always a plus to protect our little furry friends. Below is the full picture of what they are free-from.

It has a watery consistency which is quickly absorbed into the skin and has little to no smell which is great for people who are sensitive to fragrances. It comes in a clear bottle with a white screw lid and the label is eco-friendly which can be taken off the bottle and be thrown away separately.

INGREDIENT LIST

HOW IT’S USED

Just like any other watery toner out there, soaking a toner pad with the Lotus Water Calming Toner is ideal to apply all over the face. I personally like to apply a small amount of the toner onto my palms and gently pat it onto my face until it is fully absorbed into the skin, for both day and night skin care routines. I would also layer this toner once or twice more as my skin drinks this up so quickly and to get even more hydration. I also think a great way to use this product is to soak a think cotton pad with the toner and gently place it onto areas where it needs calming down, to be an instant face mask for a few minutes. Even better, you can refrigerate the toner for 20 minutes (which they also recommend for better usage) and then make an instant mask with it. I haven’t done it because I don’t have those types of toner cotton pads (which I should be buying to try out…) but I think this would be perfect for people who can’t use sheet masks and could be a great substitute for it.

THOUGHTS

After testing this out for a decent 2+ weeks and just in time for the warmer weather to kick in, I really enjoyed using this toner for both my AM and PM routines (one layer for the morning and a few for the night). It feels light on my skin yet hydrating and not like you’re just splashing water onto your skin. My skin feels hydrated afterwards and helps prep it for other products to be applied afterwards. Apart from helping with hydration I don’t see much of a major difference in the complexion of my skin in terms of it being vibrant or self-purifying as it says. However, apart from that I do love it because it doesn’t sting my sensitive-skin and it’s hydrating which ticks all the boxes for me. I’m really glad that there is a light-weight toner that can accommodate those with sensitive skin types as there are not many out there in the market and at a reasonable price as well. This would be a product I’d purchase again and recommend to anyone who likes clean beauty products for the Summer.
