ByWishtrend – Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream [ Review ]

Hi everyone!

Happy 2022! Hope you all are doing well~ Here’s to 2022 treating us kinder this year and also my first review of the year! Today, I have a very NEW product I want to introduce to you guys….it’s ByWishtrend’s Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream! 💜🌙 I got the opportunity to test this out and today is a review of how it worked on my skin after 2+ weeks!

Mind you, I don’t recall using products like this before (with the exception of Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Serum), so my experience using a product with active ingredients is somewhat new for me as well so please keep that in mind as you read through my review! ^^ With claims that it is catered towards people with sensitive skin I wanted to give this product a chance and see if I could incorporate more milder active ingredient skincare into my routine and improve my skin’s complexion!

*I was given this product from Wishtrend in exchange for my thoughts and opinions on them. All opinions and thoughts are genuinely my own and this review may include some promo codes and affiliate links which clicking on them would help generate a small commission to help support my blog at no extra cost to you.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

ByWishtrend will be releasing this ✨NEW✨ night cream on 14th February, that uses Bakuchiol – a plant-based Retinol alternative as well as Retinal, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Centella Asiatica Extract and Beta Glucan to help reduce the signs of aging, improve skin elasticity and texture. This is catered to people who have sensitive skin who want the same results as using retinol skincare products. It comes in this cute 30ml pale purple (which is also a lighter version of this year’s PANTONE Colour of the Year!) airless pump bottle with a bright yellow pump that keep active ingredients stable and fresh with each use.

The cream itself also the same yellow colour as the pump but don’t get scared by its daunting appearance as it spreads out onto the skin really well and is not heavy at all.

Babchi Plant

If you’re wondering what Bakuchiol is, I’ll talk a bit more about it here to get you familiar with this plant-derived alternative to retinol. Pronounced as “buh-koo-chee-all”, this anti-oxidant is found in the Babchi plant and provides collagen-boosting properties to improve the appearance of fine line and sun damage that has occurred. It also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory powers that help with acne-prone skin as well.

HOW IT’S USED

This cream is to be used at night, strictly as what the instructions on the box says and that’s what I did. Prior to using this on my face, I did test it on an area of my neck which they also mention as a pre-caution on the box and if there was no negative reaction I would use it on my face. Please discontinue if any irritation occurs!

Starting out I would use 1 pump for my whole face, every two days. After a few days I used it every night with the same amount. There was no negative reaction I would use 2 pumps of the cream and that was usually enough for me. I have read that other beauty reviewers use quite a bit like 3-4 pumps so it depends on you and your experience of using such products. I would use this cream before my moisturiser and I wouldn’t use any other things like Vitamin C serums at the same time as using this. Using hydrating products along with the Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream helped my skin out a lot. This included Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream and the Supple Preparation Unscented Toner.

THOUGHTS

As I was uncertain how it worked on my skin, I only used this cream once every 2-3 days with 1 pump and I found that my skin was able to handle this. When I increased it to 2 pumps + every I did feel like my skin started to react a bit and immediately stopped for a few days to calm it down. I resumed to the initial 2-3 days + 1 pump and I found this to be ok for my skin.

I think I experienced a bit of skin purging (mine was flakiness on my chin area and white heads forming on my face) which FREAKED me out because this had never happened to me EVER so I was a shock when it happened. However, I believe there were certain factors like I was on my period and hormonal acne occurred, with that in mind I’m uncertain if the cream had contributed to it as well. Overall, I was comfortable with using 1 pump + every 2-3 days for my skin and that worked best.

BEFORE
AFTER 2 WEEKS

I did feel like my face became more smoother and a bit more plump than before but there were places on my chin area where my skin became dry and flaky.

I liked how it came in an airtight pump bottle for sanitary reasons and keeping the active ingredients stable. I also liked how a controlled amount came out since I was not sure how much to use. However, I am curious about the last remnants of the cream when I reach the bottom since we can’t open the bottle or if it was designed to get every last bit. Who knows but other than that, it’s super convenient to use!

With most skincare products like this though, you’ll see better results after using it for a prolonged period of time rather than a short period of time. So, I will be using this and see what the final verdict is~

I am glad that this type of product is in the market because as I am getting older I am at a stage where I should be incorporating these kind of products to help protect my skin from signs of aging but with sensitive skin, it can be hard and costly to find the right product. There was a gap in the market and ByWishtrend created this product with this thought in mind, creating this mild cream that helps with skin elasticity & texture improvement, but also helps moisturise it as well.
